What is orthodontics?
Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that is devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and correction of abnormal teeth positioning and malocclusions for functional and/or aesthetic purposes.
Orthodontic treatments improve functions like chewing, breathing, swallowing, and growth. Well-aligned teeth are also easier to clean, which helps prevent cavities, gum disease, and, in extreme cases, tooth loss.
Patients who receive orthodontic treatments for aesthetic reasons notice a significant increase in self-esteem following their treatment.
The orthodontist

Orthodontics can correct the following:

Orthodontics for children
Seven years old is the ideal age for a first consultation because this is when adult or permanent teeth appear in the mouth and certain anomalies, such as palatal constriction, can be corrected.
With early treatment, proper guidance for jaw growth and permanent teeth development can be provided through what we call a first-phase (interceptive) procedure, thereby avoiding worse complications such as surgery in adulthood and/or future extraction of permanent teeth required for correcting a palate that is too narrow, creating space for new teeth to come, correcting bad habits such as thumb-sucking or atypical swallowing.
In addition, if a second phase of treatment were to become necessary during the teenage years, this follow-up treatment would be shorter and less complex.
Orthodontics for Teens
The ideal age to begin orthodontic treatment is about 11 years old. At this age, the child is in full growth, which allows us to restore the jaw relationship and alignment of the teeth as well as any other problem to its full potential.
We offer white brackets (3M Clarity), customizable devices, and coloured elastic and/or ligatures that can be changed during each appointment.

Orthodontics for adults
Adults of all ages can benefit from orthodontic treatments, so you can get the smile you've always wanted!
The Quebec Association of Orthodontists estimates that 20% of orthodontic patients are adults and this percentage keeps increasing. During your consultation, the health of your teeth, gums and supporting bone will be evaluated so a treatment suited to your needs can be recommended. Different options will be made available to you such as white brackets (3M Clarity) and removable transparent aligner trays (Invisalign).
In addition, we use the SureSmile© technique, which, according to the World Journal of Orthodontics, provides a 25% increase in treatment quality efficiency and a 40% reduction in the duration of treatment.

Your Invisalign treatment consists of a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that you change every two weeks for the next set of aligners. Each aligner is individually manufactured for your teeth, and your teeth only. As you replace each aligner, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to the final position prescribed by your dental practitioner.
What’s more, a virtual 3D treatment plan (ClinCheck© treatment plan) shows the series of movements your teeth will go through over the course of the treatment. This allows you to see upfront what your teeth are expected to like at the end of the treatment. From the results of the ClinCheck treatment plan, your custom-made, clear aligners are produced especially for you.
If you're ready for a smile that transforms your appearance, Invisalign is your answer. Although there are many choices out there, no other treatment works as comfortably as Invisalign.

An iTero scan is used to create a 3D model of the patient's mouth. Then, using the specialized software SureSmile our doctors move teeth to the computer in order to obtain optimal results. Then, the software robotically manufactures custom are made to measure for the patient.

LightForce braces are an innovative leap forward in orthodontic technology, offering patients a more tailored approach to achieving the smile they want. Unlike traditional metal braces, which use standard brackets for all patients, LightForce braces employ advanced technology to create a customized fit for each individual. This customization enhances comfort and streamlines the treatment process, leading to faster, more effective results.
The concept behind LightForce braces is simple yet groundbreaking. By utilizing 3D printing technology and digital planning, orthodontists can design brackets that perfectly match the unique contours of each patient’s teeth.
